This is a recipe a very good Indian friend of mine gave me.
It is very quick and easy and delicious. Recipe from Gurvinder Nanda 15/8/02
3 cups milk powder (Carnation)
1 cup self raising flour
1 ts baking powder
350 ml whipping cream
Sift and then knead together all the ingredients. roll into walnut sized balls. Deep fry in peanut oil (although not too hot to allow jamun to cook through) until a golden to dark brown. Leave to cool.
Place in cooled, flavoured syrup to absorb.
For the Sugar Syrup:
2 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1 green cardomom, shell removed, to flavour
Place all ingredients in non stick saucepan. Dissolve sugar in water and bring to boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook five minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
