Flying / Travel Checklist
For the flight:
- PASSPORT, Ticket, Credit card (all else is superfluous really!)
- Inflatable airline neck pillow. (See travelsmith.com)
- Eyedrops, eyemask, earplugs, sleeping pills, Vitamin C, hand cream, Hand sanitizer
- Headphone Y splitter (enabling two of you to use the same device)
- Pashmina shawl—for an extra layer of warmth on the plane and at your destination.
- Self-inflating seat cushion. (See travelsmith.com)
- Sweets / mints / snacks
- Ziplock bags - one for easy removal of liquids at airport security, another for dry toiletries, one for electronic cords and chargers. Plus spares
At the destination:
- Comfy walking shoes.
- Ultra-light, compact jacket. For warm-weather destinations, consider a rain jacket, with a hood, that folds into its own pocket. For colder destinations, consider a windproof, water-resistant Patagonia Nano Puff or Uniqlo Down jacket
- Ultra-light day pack. Pack it in your carry-on wheelie and use it when sightseeing and shopping. If all your souvenirs won't fit in your wheelie for the flight home, check the wheelie with the airline and use the day pack as your carry-on. (See amazon.co.uk)
- Crushable, non-wrinkle hat. (See wallaroohats.co.uk)
- Phone (all-in-one alarm clock, flashlight, map, and magnifying glass (use the camera zoom)).
- Small binoculars
- Spacesaver bags
- Carrier bags
- Plastic drycleaner bags. helps prevent wrinkles
- Travel-size detergent
- Extra camera battery and memory card.
- Gaffer tape
- Electrical multiway extension cord
- Adapter plugs
- Photo of your passport on phone / photocopy / email
- Copy of your travel-insurance or emergency medical insurance policy.
