These make a good approximation of a hob nob, although a little thinner and crisper.
May also be covered in chocolate

Priory Biscuits

4 oz flour
0.5 tsp baking powder
pinch salt
large pinch cream of tartar
4 oz butter
4 oz caster sugar
4 oz rolled oats
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda dissolved in 2 tsp hot water
2 tbsp warm golden syrup

Cream the butter and sugar, then add the oats, wet ingredients, and then the remaining dry ingredients. Leave to stand for 30 mins. Put teaspoons of the mixture on a greased baking sheet and bake at 175C/350F for 8 mins or until golden brown.
