Knockhill, Tut Towers, May 2002 Knockhill was my first track day (I don't think the Nürburgring counts, that's a whole different experience!). I listened to the briefing in a state of apprehension, trying to remember all the rules. I needn't of worried of course, the event was well organised and the track was a pleasure. There was a series of sessions set up to let us all out on the track in small groups before an open pit lane was introduced. |

Bob passengered with me, we took the first lap rather gently, with me just getting used to the track layout. The track management had left cones to indicate suggested break, turn in, and exit points. This was particularly helpful through Duffus Dip and through McIntyres. Trying to get the hairpin right was highly enjoyable :o) |

Then it was Bobs turn - we performed a quick drivers seat swap much to the amusement of some of the onlookers in the pit lane & I let him go off on his own. Driving my car on track was exhilarating - but being a passenger with someone else driving my car was just too nerve wracking to contemplate!
I managed to cadge a passenger lap with Robin though - and he showed me how it should be done. I even managed to drag Bob away from my car to get a few more laps in after that.
And it was all over far too quickly!
